Pre & Post Care

Microneedling Pre & Post Care and Considerations

• Active acne, rosacea or inflamed areas must be noted and avoided
• Moles must be avoided
• Herpes outbreak history should prompt antiviral prophylaxis
• With warmer skin colors, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a possibility with sun exposure post-procedure, so NO SUN during treatment regimen…please 😊
• Medications- Accutane must have been discontinued for 6 months prior to treatment
• Anticoagulation treatment medications should be evaluated by the treating provider
• Vitamin A derivatives (Retin-A, Renova, Differin, OTC products containing retinols, etc.) discontinued 72 hours prior to therapy.

POST PROCEDURE

• HEAL — The Essential Recovery Kit by Epionce is recommended for immediate post treatment and for the subsequent 3 days. PRFM is highly recommended as an add-on to stimulate more collagen production as well as speed up the healing process.
• HYDRATE — Following your treatment, your skin may feel drier than normal. Hyaluronic Acid is an ideal ingredient to hydrate and restore the skin back to perfect balance. SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic is a Vit C serum that can also rejuvenates the skin while decreasing downtime.
• STIMULATE — In the days following your treatment, and as the skin starts to regenerate, collagen stimulating peptides like Tri-Peptide by SkinCeuticals are ideal to continue the stimulation of collagen.
• MAKEUP — It is recommended that makeup should not be applied for 12 hours after the procedure. However, your practitioner may recommend mineral makeup product that would be suitable for use during this period. Do not apply any makeup with a makeup brush, especially if it is not clean.
